DAPA releases TRIPLE-BAND GSM/DCS/UMTS Antenna with Independent Electrical Varialbe Downtilt

DAPA is pleased to introduce the latest member of its 3rd generation (3G) SYMPHONY™ antenna series:  Model 3G-DH-2T-2DT-2DT-X, a triple-band, dual polarized antenna designed for optimal performance in all three frequency bands, i.e. GSM (880 to 960 MHz), DCS (1710 to 1880 MHz), and UMTS (1900 to 2170 MHz).  This antenna has been designed to cover each frequency range independently to improve the performance for each network.

This antenna model features:

In the UMTS band:
beamwidth of 62° in the horizontal plane and 6.4° in the vertical plane and a gain of 16.7 dBi

In the DCS band:
beamwidth of 68° in the horizontal plane and 7.6° in the vertical plane and a gain of 16.6 dBi

In the GSM band:
beamwidth of 72° in the horizontal plane and 7.6° in the vertical plane and a gain of 16.4 dBi

An internal 900/1800 MHz diplexer reduces the number of connectors to four, thus making it possible to upgrade coverage of the existing sites without changing their visual aspect.  This antenna is also available without the 900/1800 MHz diplexer (Model 3G-DH-2T-2T-2T-X).

Three continuous electrical variable downtilts of -2° to – 8° - independent for each frequency band - will allow the telecom operators to achieve the optimal coverage to best match the users' needs. The integrated ACCUTILT™ mechanism is designed to function by manual operation or by the installation of a remote control apparatus for setting the electrical downtilt from a distance.

DAPA releases UMTS panel antenna with ELECTRICAL VARIABLE DOWNTILT to add to its existing SYMPHONY™ series.

Utilizing its experience in electrical variable downtilt technology, DAPA presents its latest 3rd generation UMTS antenna, model code 3G-DH-0T-XS covering the 1900-2170 MHz frequency band.

Designed for optimal performance the 3G-DH-0T-XS covers a 60° ± 5° horizontal plane and a 6.9° ± 0.3° vertical plane.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, this antenna is designed to simultaneously supply a continuous ELECTRICAL VARIABLE DOWNTILT of 0° to -8° maintaining its RF performance characteristics. The integrated ACCUTILT™ mechanism is designed to function in manual setting or by installation of a remote control apparatus for setting the electric downtilt at a distance.

The ACCUTILT™, used for DAPA's DUAL BAND antennas for GSM / DCS and our new PCS panel antenna DH010XTSA, allows operators to modify coverage whenever needed without changing the installed unit. This flexibility will ease the installation of the newborn UMTS networks that will require fine-tuning for optimal performance.

Variable Downtilt

Don't mechanically tilt it ... ACCUTILT™ It!!

DAPA introduces a 63° horizontal beamwidth, 18.1 dBi dual polarized (slant 45) PCS panel antenna featuring the ACCUTILT™ variable electrical downtilt, adjustable from 0° to -8°.

The ACCUTILT™, which has been used for DAPA's DUAL BAND antennas for GSM / DCS and our new UMTS panel antenna 3G-DH-0T-XS, allows operators to modify coverage whenever needed without changing the installed unit. This flexibility simplifies modification of coverage and saves new unit installation costs in case a site requires fine-tuning for optimal performance.

Using its successful experience with electrical variable downtilt technology in GSM/DCS, DAPA releases the latest ACCUBEAM™ model; DH010XTSA covering the PCS frequency band (1850-1990 MHz).

The integrated ACCUTILT™ mechanism is designed to function in manual setting or by installation of a remote control apparatus (available in the future), for setting the electric downtilt at a distance

  • Antenna designed to simultaneously supply a continuous VARIABLE ELECTRICAL DOWNTILT, of 0° to -8°, to both the +45° and -45° polarizations
  • Improved side lobe suppression & null filling at all e-tilt settings
  • Guaranteed < 1.40 VSWR
  • IM3 intermodulation < -150dBc (2x43 dBm carrier)
  • Compact in size
Dual Band Antennas

DAPA's HARMONY® Dual Band antennas feature two antennas under the same radome. The design is such that a single ground
plane supports the radiating elements of the two bands. Benefits include:

  • less total weight and wind load
  • improved aesthetics
  • lower real estate cost.
  • option of variable electrical downtilt for each band
  • an internal diplexer to reduce the number of transmitting cable lines.
